Kerry Steeden has been in the Bridal business for twenty eight years.
For all of this time apart from a short break to concentrate on the accessories (plus a bit of property developing) I have been designing and creating "one off" Wedding Dresses for individual Brides.
Many of the dresses incorporate beading onto the bodices, which I love doing. About ten years ago it became popular to wear a tiara. My Brides then started requesting a handmade tiara to match their hand made bridal gown. I have been busy making them ever since. I enjoy what I do and this is reflected in my work. Even though I now have a website and can take orders from this, I still welcome Brides and Bridesmaids to visit me at my studio where they can view the collection and try on Tiaras, Veils, Jewellery etc.

Working together to create the dress of your dreams, any design is possible. We can take inspiration from designs you have seen in magazines and books. Maybe you like the shape of a bodice from one dress, but would love to have it embellished with Swarovski crystals. You may love the idea of a button and loop fastening at the back, or you may prefer it to be laced up (corset style). What about the skirt? Do you want it slim and fitted or have you fallen in love with the idea of a full billowing skirt with cathedral length train? What about the fabric? Too many to mention! Over two hundred and fifty samples of silk which include : Dupion, Thai, Duchesse Satin, Crepe backed Satin, Zibeline etc. Also available man-made fabrics such as Duchesse Satin, Organza, Polyester Dupion etc.
Every Wedding Dress has a toile fitting (mock up of the dress in calico) where the design is fitted to you and any style alterations can be made eg. make neckline lower/different shape, skirt less full, placement of embellishments to enhance your figure to the best advantage. This is a very important fitting as the toile will be used as the pattern from which I will cut in to the fabric.
All aspects of the design, fitting and creation of your Bridal Gown is undertaken by myself (with the exception of large amounts of embroidery) so you can be sure of my personal attention.
Your Wedding Dress is the most important dress you will ever wear. Don't compromise, have a unique dress which has been created especially for you in the colour and fabric you have dreamed of.
